  • Winkswood Danish Oil is a finish suitable for all types of wood
  • It differs from Teak Oil in that it contains special ingredients, which prevent it drying to a gloss
  • It is an easy to use wipe-on finish, which brings out the beauty of the timber and gives a natural, open grained, soft lustrous finish
  • Ideal for all woods and is excellent on turned woodwork 
  • Brandon Winks, well known local French Polisher, wood turner and technician in the piano trade has developed this Danish Oil formulation paying attention to traditional recipes
  • After testing and using it he is proud enough to put his name to it
  • It joins Winkswood Woodturner’s Friction Polish and Winkswood Polish Restorer for sale in our shop and online
  • Whilst the best ingredients are used, the cost on importation is saved as it is a locally produced product

  • It creates a low-sheen open grain finish
  • Leaves no brush marks or ‘orange peel
  • Contains UV protection
  • Is food safe when set
  • Recommended for sealing trivets and salad utensils
  • Excellent for sealing potjies and cast iron pans and left to cold set
  • Also for turned bowls, platters and peppermills
  • For use on finely sanded (at least 220 grit) wooden furniture and sculptings
  • This product enhances the grain patterning on all woods
  • Winkswood Danish Oil has tested safe to use over any other Danish Oil finish

Directions for use:

  • Shake contents before use
  • Do not thin this product at all
  • After rubbing off any sanding dust with cotton towelling, rag on mixture with fine mutton cloth or T-shirting
  • Brush onto mouldings or carvings and into corners
  • Wipe off again with cloth or tissue paper
  • Allow to dry overnight
  • May be de-nibbed with 0000 steel wool or 600 grit paper
  • Towel off dust and apply a second coat in the same manner
  • More coats may be applied to create a lustrous built-up finish
  • May be waxed with quality paste wax when set, for extra shine
  • This product will yellow light colour woods
  • Clean thread of container thoroughly before closing or contents will weld top shut!
